This upgrade involved extending the island platforms at Poplar Station to accommodate the new three car trains. Pre-cast modular beams and platform units were used to achieve two 60 metre long platform extensions. The project included the installation of drainage, lighting, platform furniture and signage.
This project acted as a model for the key transport line for the London 2012 Olympics games.
