Cleshar NVQ success
Cleshar recently hosted a ceremony at their Northfield depot to acknowledge and award National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) certificates to over 100 ‘Rail Maintenance’ operatives for completing their NVQ Levels 2 and 3 qualifications this year.
The ceremony not only offered the opportunity to formally present candidates with their certificates but also provided the chance to acknowledge the hard work and dedication shown by the candidates to achieve their qualification.
‘This is a fantastic achievement for us! The training and certification programme began in March 2010 and has resulted in an ongoing improvement in the level of competency of our teams. We are confident that not only is this a great sign of dedication and quality, but also our commitment to retain multi-skilled, competent and trained staff.’ Kim Millen, Training and Facilities Director.
‘We at Cleshar, not only recognise the importance of the training and development required to cover essential work-related skills, techniques and knowledge, but also that the quality of candidates and their development through training and education are major factors in determining successful delivery and long-term profitability.’ Hugh McAnaw, Track Engineering Director
Our continuing NVQ and apprenticeship training and development programme was first introduced by Cleshar to facilitate learning, personal development and commitment to providing educational opportunities.
In excess of 160 further participants are currently enrolled in NVQ programmes with additional apprenticeship opportunities being made available and Cleshar look forward to awarding more certificates to successful candidates in 2011 and beyond.
The NVQ and apprenticeship training and development programme are complimentary in setting the high standards demanded by Cleshar Contract Services and their Clients in establishing workforce competency, delivery of projects in a safe working environment and a sustainable future.
